Abstract
Block-matching plays an essential role in video compression. In this paper a video compression system utilizing the Dual Tree Complex Wavelet Transform combined with the adaptive rood pattern search for fast block-matching motion estimation is investigated. Initial results indicate that the new proposed system yields improved PSNR compared to those obtained from the conventional video compression systems. ©2008 IEEE.
