The issues of the need of desired audio/visual capabilities of the virtual reality (VR) system, such that a gamer have a high degree of presence while computer gaming, are discussed. Video games are converted to 'cave' and 'Quake II' for research purposes, where gamers wear stereo glasses and hold a wand like device. Some types of VR system involve the user wearing a head mounted display (HMD) that have head tracking and having a separate image for each eye. Other video games also have a military theme, including flight simulators and wargames, used for cost-effective training. The production of VR system is facing a challenge of providing hardware of sufficient functionality at an acceptable price. The components of a VR system that user has to wear need to be comfortable and the home user could use a VR system for prolonged periods of play.
