Abstract

Cloud computing is an extension of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). For cloud elastic nature, it will often need to dynamically reconfiguring and reorganising the services interaction as some unpredictable events, such as crashes or network problems, will typically cause service unavailability. The complexity and dynamism of current global network system require an architecture that is capable of autonomously changing its structure and functionality to meet the changes with little human intervention. In this paper, an autonomic SOA framework is proposed to extend the intelligence and capability in the cloud. The use of case-based reasoning and the architectural consideration of autonomic computing paradigm are presented. © 2012 IEEE.
