Abstract
Desalination brine is highly saline and contains a variety of chemical pollutants, making its disposal a key issue for desalination around the world. For the long-term management of desalination brines, environmentally benign and economically viable technologies are required. This chapter presents the methods to manage the brine/waste product from desalination methods. It covers the recovery of useful products from waste brine that are available for economic or societal use. © 2022 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
