Abstract

Coupling between the magnetic field, electric field, and strain is achieved when magneto-elastic (piezomagnetic) and electro-elastic (piezoelectric) fibers are embedded in matrix neither piezoelectric nor piezomagnetic, but it should elastic enough to transfer the strain field. A model was developed to account the effect of reducing properties for these functional materials when it modeled as shell, plate or laminae for sensors and actuator applications. The results have demonstrated that the presented model account the electromagnetic property, when combining the (BaTiO 3) as piezoelectric and (CoFe 2O 4) as piezomagnetic to form three-phase smart composite, which is not existed in the in any one of them individually © 2011 IEEE.
