This paper presents an investigation of the effect of the graphene nanoparticles on the mechanical properties of glass fiber reinforced epoxy composite. The composites were fabricated using vacuum infusing molding. Dispersion of graphene nanoplatelets was done using bath sonicator and mechanical stirring. The physical and mechanical properties were examined according to ASTM standards. Results showed that there was a significant improvement in tensile and flexural properties by the addition of 0.25 of graphene nanoplatelets in the glass/epoxy composite. Tensile strength and modulus were enhanced by 27.62 and 41.26 , respectively. Flexural strength and modulus have been improved by around 27.62 and 41.26 , respectively. Graphene platelets can be hybridized with glass/epoxy composite to improve the mechanical performance. © 2021 Author(s).
