High frequency ultrasonic-assisted absorption in a batch system has shown significant enhancement for CO2 removal. Nevertheless, its performance in continuous mode has yet to be studied. A novel continuous high frequency ultrasonic contactor system for CO2 capture has been developed to study the effect of gas flow rate (1525 SLPM), liquid flow rate (0.10.5 SLPM), pressure (1050 bar) and voltage (030 V) on the absorption performance. A validated quadratic model was developed, and the optimum condition was identified using central composite design coupled with response surface methodology. Based on the results, current system demonstrated better absorption performance as compared to other contactors. © 2019 The Korean Society of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry
