Based on the classical Z-Source inverter (ZSI), this paper represents an impedance network inverter that is termed as one switched inductor (SL) series Z-source inverter because of the composing of one switched inductor cell in the circuits series type impedance network. The traditional ZSI has high voltage stress on capacitor and low boost factor. The proposed circuit has high boost factor and low voltage stress on its impedance network capacitor. To enhance the boost ability and reduce the capacitor voltage stress simultaneously the proposed topology couples the SL cell type series impedance network to main inverter switching circuit. Two operational states of the topology have been illustrated, shoot through (ST) and non-ST mode. The simulation results done by Matlab/Simulink verifies the performance analysis of the proposed topology. © 2018 Institution of Engineering and Technology. All rights reserved.
