All the impacts of Internet of Things (IoT) can be observed from three dimensions of Sustainable Development. IoT is a double sword technology since it brings both benefits and challenges and is used in various industries to improve the environment in terms of carbon emission and energy consumption. However, the rapid growth of remote digital sensors and devices that connected to the internet is at alarming rate. Hence, the objectives of this research are (1) To investigate the environmental impacts from the use of IoT in Malaysia; (2) To investigate the use of IoT to mitigate environmental concerns in Malaysia; (3) To propose guidelines on IoT Green Practices for policymakers in Malaysia. This research adopt case research method, which is particularly appropriate for exploratory studies and a recommendation will be made to propose IoT green practices for policymakers in Malaysia to strategize their planning, development and implementation of IoT initiatives. © PACIS 2018.
