Abstract

Occurrence of wastage of water due to underground home pipeline leakage causes a negative impact in terms of economy and property. This is because it is a concealed leak which is hard to detect and thus led to water wastage. Therefore, the home underground pipeline leakage alert system must be developed to lessen wastage of water and money. This research proposes a conceptual framework with two main stages consists of (1) monitoring water pressure inside the pipeline and (2) send alert notification if the water pressure drop below 2.7 KPa. Therefore, by having a home underground pipeline leakage alert system, immediate action can be carried out in order to reduce wastage of water and minimize the maintenance cost once leakage is detected. The novelty of this research mainly to develop a prototype application for the proposed home underground pipeline leakage alert system. © 2018 IEEE.
