Senior Lecturer

Ir. Ts. Dr. Iskandar Bin Abdul Hamid CMILT is a mechanical engineer, academic, and road safety expert with extensive experience spanning industry, research, and academia. He obtained his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Hons) from Universiti Tenaga Nasional and later completed both his Master's and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Manchester. He is a Professional Engineer registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia, a Professional Technologist with the Malaysian Board of Technologists, and a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport.

Currently serving as Senior Lecturer at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Dr. Iskandar has taught a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate subjects including Mechanics of Machines, Fluid Mechanics, Traffic Crash Analysis, and Sustainable Transportation. He has supervised research, contributed to accreditation exercises, and collaborated with universities and industry stakeholders. His professional engagement includes work with government agencies and industry partners such as the Royal Malaysia Police, Road Transport Department, SOCSO, PLUS Malaysia, and PETRONAS.

Dr. Iskandar previously served at the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research, where he established and led the Crash Reconstruction Unit and conducted over 100 crash investigations across several countries. His leadership roles included Director-level positions and research management responsibilities. With strong expertise in reliability engineering, road safety and transportation, he continues to contribute to engineering education, research, and policy development, and is well positioned to advance academic excellence and interdisciplinary collaboration.
