Prior to joining UTP, he served at the University of Kent as Pro Vice Chancellor (Education Modernisation), reshaping the academic year and overseeing schools spanning for Computing; Engineering, Mathematics & Physics; Psychology; Economics & Political Science; and Arts & Architecture. He earlier directed Kent's Division of Computing, Engineering & Mathematical Sciences, including the interdisciplinary Centre for Cyber Security in Society recognized by the UK's National Cyber Security Centre.
Cosh spent over a decade at the University of Reading, ultimately as Head of the School of Mathematical, Physical & Computational Sciences, stewarding departments of Meteorology, Computer Science, and Mathematics & Statistics. He previously served as Dean of the Faculty of Science, Head of the School of Systems Engineering, and Faculty Director of Teaching & Learning, contributing across procurement, estates, and university governance.
Across leadership roles in the UK and Malaysia, Cosh is known for building strong relationships, leading change effectively, and fostering academic environments that challenge and support staff and students to produce work of the highest quality.
