Short Biography:
Ts. Dr Ng Cheng Yee is a passionate academician and researcher with a strong background in Chemical and Petroleum Engineering. With over ten years of experience in academia, he is currently a member of the faculty at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, where he play a vital role in educating and mentoring future engineers and researchers. His educational journey includes a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, an MSc in Petroleum Engineering from NTNU in Norway, and a BSc in Chemical Engineering from Bahir Dar University in Ethiopia. These diverse academic experiences have provided him with a comprehensive understanding of the field and a global perspective. Throughout his career,he have successfully managed multiple courses and capstone projects, equipping students with the necessary skills and knowledge in Chemical and Petroleum Engineering. He prioritize practical application and critical thinking, empowering students to excel in their chosen careers. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he accomplished researcher with a strong publication record. He have secured and managed research grants worth over $300K as a principal investigator and over $5M as a co-principal investigator. His research interests encompass various areas, including waterless fracking of shale formations, bio-surfactants for enhanced oil recovery, and modified fracturing fluids for zipper-fracking technology. He is dedicated to collaborating with like-minded professionals, industry partners, and academic institutions to tackle the complex challenges faced by the Chemical and Petroleum Engineering industry. Through his passion for education, research, and the pursuit of knowledge, he strive to make a positive impact and contribute to the sustainable future of the industry.
