Short Biography:
Dr.Shahir Liew obtained his BSCE and PhD from Texas, USA, in 1983 and 1988, respectively. Having practicing in the offshore industries for 23 years, he is now the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research & Innovation) of Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Malaysia. His focus is on MetOcean and design of offshore facilities as well as on the dynamic aspect of offshore facilities. He is currently supporting several business units of PETRONAS Carigali as well as other oil and gas outfits. As a strong advocate in research with industrial applications, he has innovate several technological advancement in the areas of digital processing in monitoring offshore facilities for its integrity and reliability..
