Short Biography:

Ismail M Saaid has had 23 years of extensive academic experience in petroleum engineering with expertise in reservoir fluids studies and petroleum production chemistry. He has been deeply involved in leading numerous postgraduate and industry-linked research projects in chemical enhanced oil recovery, improved oil recovery, reservoir conformance & flow assurance.

He has taught reservoir engineering, petroleum production technology and petroleum economics both at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Additionally, he has taught general courses like Engineers in Society and Health, Safety and Environment to support engineering curriculum at the university. His research projects have produced 14 PhD and 16 MSc theses. Presently, 4 PhD and 1 MSc students are in progress. Ismail has given a number of invited lectures, paper presentations and seminars and short courses in the country, regionally and internationally.

He has authored or co-authored more than 50 indexed journal publications (h-index 24) including three book chapters. Ismail has served in the Society of Petroleum Engineers on the Regional Faculty Award Committee. Currently he is a Section Editor for the PLATFORM Journal of Univ. Teknologi PETRONAS while serving as reviewer for SPE Journal and Journal of Petroleum Science and other indexed journals. He is a registered petroleum engineer with Board of Engineers Malaysia.
