Short Biography:

Dr Abdul Hazim bin Abdullah is a Lecturer in the Department of Petroleum Engineering at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP). His work focuses on sand control and production systems, integrating laboratory sand retention and erosion testing with full-scale rig development to evaluate and enhance mechanical sand screens. He is also experienced in evaluating, improving, and optimizing drilling-fluid properties covering rheology, filtration, and shale inhibition. This work aligns with his PhD research, which centred on drilling-fluid systems, including shale inhibition and performance optimization of synthesized graphene-based polymer-nanocomposites under field-relevant conditions.
