- Dr Normawati Mohamad Yunus, is currently a senior lecturer in the department of Fundamental and Applied Sciences, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS. She obtained her Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Chemistry from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST), UK in 1998, Master of Scientific Studies (Chemistry) from the University of Newcastle, Australia in 2001 and PhD in Chemical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS in 2013. She has been working in the field of ionic liquids since 2007. Her PhD works mainly involves the synthesis, characterization, and the application of ionic liquids in CO2 absorption. Her current research areas are in the development of ionic liquids and advanced material for CO2 and CH4 removal. She is a member of Centre for Research in Ionic Liquids (CORIL) at UTP, Malaysian Ionic Liquid Research Society (MILRS) as well as Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), UK.
