  • He has more than 30 years of research experience. His research interests are in manufacturing engineering, specifically, in machining, cutting tool technology, tribology and machinability of difficult to machine materials such as titanium, Inconel 718 and composite materials. He has obtained more than RM20 million worth of research grants from KPT, MOSTI, and PETRONAS. He was the Chairman of Cluster for research for Frontier and Digital Technologies Cluster at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.

    He was Head of Cluster for Frontier Technology and Advanced Manufacturing at the Ministry of Higher Education. He was also a taskforce and auditor for MyRA and HiCOE. He was a Committee Member for Research Universities KPT until 31 December 2021. He is a recipient of TRSM in 2021. He was recognized as one of the top 2% research scientists in materials processing in the world for the year 2020 until 2024. He was recognized as the top 2% research scientist in materials processing the world for lifetime in year 2021 until 2024.
